Whoever said that there’s never enough of a good thing must have been a reality TV show fan, as fans of the longstanding “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” franchises and their senior-aged spinoff, “Golden Bachelor” have had another dating show to fixate on.

ABC has concluded the first season of its new spinoff, called “The Golden Bachelorette,” where men aged 55 and up competed to win over a woman of their age group.

Her name is Joan Vassos. And on the episode that aired Nov. 13, she made her decision.

The first-ever episode aired on Sept. 18. Vassos, 61, is a widowed mom of four from Maryland who works as a school administrator and was a contestant on “The Golden Bachelor.” So BetMaryland.com decided to briefly pause our Maryland sports betting coverage to bring you updates on the popular show. We developed exclusive odds to see who would get the final rose at the end of the first season of "The Golden Bachelorette" and we have offered weekly updates until the 90-minute finale aired.

Must be at least 21 years old and physically located in MD to wager. Please play responsibly, for help visit mdgamblinghelp.org or call 1-800-GAMBLER.

Who Won The First ‘Golden Bachelorette’?

Of the 24 men who began the contest to win over Vassos’ heart, two remained going into the final episode.

One was named Guy Gansert, a 66-year-old emergency room doctor from Reno, Nevada. But his odds kept getting longer and longer in the final weeks. Last week we had him at +100000 odds, which would translate to a 0.1% chance of winning if it were offered at at Maryland sportsbook apps as a wager.

Our overwhelming favorite was Chock Chappel, a 60-year-old insurance executive from Wichita, Kansas.

Sure enough, Joan Vassos said yes to Chock on the episode that aired Nov. 13. They have already revealed, in an interview with US Weekly, plans to get an apartment together in New York City.
