Any thoughts of Baltimore Orioles World Series odds as a viable wager have faded this summer. The team has started 47-58 and will trade assets for future considerations this week ahead of the July 31 trade deadline. With that in mind, BetMaryland.com developed exclusive odds on the chances that the Os will trade All-Star outfielder Cedric Mullins.

What will general manager Mike Elias do this week?

Will Cedric Mullins Stay Or Go?

While Mullins has been front and center in Baltimore’s rebuild since arriving inside the friendly confines of Camden Yards in 2018, the 30-year-old veteran has seen his on-field contributions trail off a bit over the last two years.

That’s because Mullins’ WAR total (per Baseball-Reference.com) has dropped off from 3.2 on average from 2020 through 2024 to -0.4 in 2025, with the eighth year pro currently on pace to post an OPS+ of 98 (his lowest figure since 2020), while his current .219 batting average would be a full-season low mark for the 30-year-old from North Carolina.

Still, Mullins’ above-average range and fielding ability in center makes him an appealing trade target for contenders, such as the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies, who check in at +350 and +500 on our odds board, while the AL Central-leading Detroit Tigers are third, at +650, while the Houston Astros (+1150) and St. Louis Cardinals (+1450) round out our list of teams that could land the 30-year-old ahead of the deadline.

This season, Mullins’ fielding has actually improved year-over-year, with a range factor per nine innings of 2.61 through 82 starts in the middle of the outfield, compared with his 2.25 total in 2024 and 2.56 in 2023, which could add an element that contending teams crave down the stretch.

What we know for sure right now is that Mullins enters unrestricted free agency at season’s end after playing out his one year, $8.725 million deal for the 2025 campaign, giving Elias and the O’s front office crew added reason to find a deal for the 30-year-old veteran outfielder.

For now, baseball fans in the Charm City will keep their eyes on the MLB trade market, as veterans like Mullins will be front of mind until the deadline passes at 6 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday, with deals galore bound to happen between now and then across the 30-team league.
