The 2025 Orioles are in a dubious position right now and Baltimore Orioles World Series odds look quite distant.
Manager Brandon Hyde was shown the door after the American League East stalwarts started the season 19-34 and interim skipper Tony Mansolino (above) has not had much success himself after 10 games in charge.
To see where the 2025 O’s rank among MLB teams missing their preseason win total over/under number, BetMaryland.com enlisted the services of the Sports Odds History site to come up with the biggest misses since 2015 as part of our Maryland sports betting coverage.
If this year’s Orioles don’t pick up the pace, they will be the team that has fallen short of preseason wagering expectations more than any other in the past 10 years. Here is the list from SportsOddsHistory.com, with Baltimore’s projected win total at their current pace:
Sports Odds History uses BetMGM, which offers the BetMGM Maryland Sportsbook in the Old Line State, as the basis of its past over/under odds.
Of the 330 rosters that have taken the field in 11 seasons of Major League Baseball since 2015, none have done as poorly versus their preseason expectations than the 2025 O’s have. At least so far.
BetMGM Maryland gave Baltimore a preseason win total over/under of 86.5 before Opening Day, meaning the team’s current .358 winning percentage would put them on pace for roughly 58 wins at season’s end. Operators offering real money Maryland sportsbook promo codes will be paying out under tickets much sooner than usual at this rate.
That means that the 2025 Orioles are officially devoid of the franchise’s magic, as the club’s on pace to set a new record for the biggest over/under miss since the start of the 2015 baseball season. The team at the top of that list now is another version of the Orioles (the 2018 team that went 47-115 after entering the season with a win total of 72.5).
To put the current O’s skid in perspective, win total projections from FanDuel Maryland Sportsbook give Baltimore an over/under of 70.5, as of March 27. That illustrates how quickly the club’s fall from grace has been this baseball season in the Charm City.
