The city of Baltimore just got its first non-casino retail sportsbook, joining a growing list of Maryland sports betting options with the opening of the Greene Turtle’s sports wagering operation at the Greene Turtle restaurant in the Canton neighborhood. The Canton Greene Turtle is at 3803 Boston Street.

The city has had a retail sportsbook at the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore near M&T Bank Stadium where the NFL Baltimore Ravens play. Also, several local retail sportsbooks have opened in outlying counties.

Greene Turtle Is MD Retail Sportsbook No. 11

The Green Turtle in Canton is the 11th retail sportsbook in The Old Line State. There are also 12 mobile/online operators, offering some of the best sports betting app Maryland options.

The Greene Turtle is a familiar sports bar-restaurant franchise throughout Maryland and another Greene Turtle sportsbook is expected to open in Towson in Baltimore County, north of the city. The Greene Turtle sportsbook is being operated in partnership with Parx Interactive Maryland, Inc. (betParx).

The retail sportsbook license was issued after the new sportsbook successfully completed its “controlled demonstration” on Aug. 28 and Aug. 30. That’s when customers participate in live wagering as Maryland Lottery & Gaming staff ensure that the sportsbook complied with all required procedures and that systems operate appropriately.
