Fact Checked by Jim Tomlin

On every NFL Sunday, the Baltimore region is awash in black and purple as Charm City pledges allegiance to its beloved Ravens – and puts dollars down on that allegiance at Maryland betting apps. And when the Ravens are playing at M&T Bank Stadium, the roar of the crowd can be heard by anyone traveling through the city’s southern gateway.

So, since the Ravens have an iron grip on the Baltimore region and now that sports betting is legal throughout Maryland with 10 retail sportsbooks and 10 online sportsbook operators, how does the Ravens faithful rank collectively as being fans of sports betting as well?

Well, BetMaryland.com wanted to find out. So we used Statista’s 2022 “Attitudes Toward Sports Betting” survey of NFL fans (including 1,020 respondents) to determine the NFL fanbases who currently indicate that they are a “sports betting user” and we used those numbers to see where Maryland online sports betting customers rank.

Note that this is a sample size of NFL fans who indicate they are followers of a specific NFL team. The percentage represents how many people are sports bettors out of the sample.
