In the decade that it has been operation, Live! Casino & Hotel in Hanover, Maryland, has become one of the most successful casinos, not only in the state, but also on the East Coast.
In 2021, for instance, Live!’s annual revenue of $692.2 million — although barely second to the MGM National Harbor in the state — was higher than any individual casino in either Pennsylvania or New Jersey.
Live! Casino also has a FanDuel Sportsbook, one of the top retail sportsbooks for Maryland sports betting.
During a recent Q&A, Rob Norton, president of the Cordish Gaming Group and Live! Casino, talked about the FanDuel partnership and the future of online sports betting in Maryland.
Now, the Maryland casino that has provided $2.6 billion in state tax since it opened on June 6, 2012, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month with a variety of special events, both inside the property and in the community.
In Maryland, the bulk of casino taxes raised go toward education with money also distributed to the horse racing industry, local jurisdictions, small, minority- and women-owned businesses and responsible gambling programs.
Anniversary Giveaways & Special Events
The Live! 10-year celebration will include giveaways and major announcements just about every day in June. Among perks for customers will be a $10,000 daily giveaway, with additional specials on specific days.
Some additional attractions for casino-goers will be money machine drawings; a Ten Million Tier Credit Sweepstakes, and a Ten on the Ten’s slots promotion in which more than 300 winners will win a share of $300,000 in prizes.
Meanwhile, on June 17, the casino will hold Live! 24-Hours in the Community with United Way of Central Maryland.
