How Do Terrapins Rank At Home in Big Ten At Maryland Sportsbooks?
Fact Checked by Jim Tomlin

The University of Maryland football program has not enjoyed many spectacular seasons since the first few years of the 21st century. Their status is reflected in the Terrapins’ preseason odds at sports betting Maryland sites.

When then-head coach Ralph Friedgen led the Terps to a combined 31-8 record (19-5 in the ACC) from 2001 through 2003.

In the two decades since, the gridiron Terps have occasionally been above average but also have performed below that modest standard, and certainly have been no challenge to college football’s elites.

Current coach Mike Locksley has gotten the program, now in the Big Ten, headed in the right direction, Maryland was 8-5 overall last year (4-5 in the Big Ten) and 7-6, 3-6 the year before that.

How We Compiled This List

Using TeamRankings.com, BetMaryland – your source for the top Maryland sports betting promos – examined each Big Ten football program’s win-loss record (moneyline or ML) since 2018 at their home stadium, as well as their home records against-the-spread (ATS), also since 2018.

Once that data was gathered, BetMaryalnd.com ranked the teams from No. 1 to No. 14 in each category. The teams were then ranked by the average score of the two categories.

How Maryland Rates Among B1G Teams

Since joining the Big Ten in 2014, the Terrapins have held their own while playing at home where the stadium is now known as SECU Stadium.

This season, Maryland has +10000 odds to win the Big Ten for customers using the Caesars Maryland promo code.

Maryland’s home record straight-up (or moneyline) since 2018 has been 15-13 (for a .536 winning percentage), good for place among all Big Ten schools in that category. Against the spread, the Terps have also been 15-13 at home, fourth among B1G schools.

Maryland bettors wagering ATS on those 28 home games would be barely holding their own from the perspective of their bankroll, considering the normal house edge.

The combined average ranking for homefield performances has Maryland ranked No. 6 among 14 Big Ten football programs. That’s not too shabby considering the competition.

Maryland ranks ahead of programs such as Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, and Michigan State.
