With the start of the NFL season a little more than two weeks away, BetMGM – which offers the BetMGM bonus code in Maryland among many other states – is ready to launch the latest version of its online sports betting app, which will include several updates and a first-time offering.
In a release, BetMGM – a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and Entain PLC – said the changes are designed to make it easier for bettors to find the bets they want to place.
“This is the fastest, most user-friendly and best product we have ever offered,” BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said. “Every detail was designed with players in mind. By blending years of customer feedback with the ingenuity of our product development team, we’ve built a premium sports betting app with a level of detail and insight that sets BetMGM apart.”
The updates will be available in time for Baltimore Ravens and Washington Commanders fans as they look to make Maryland sports betting wagers on their teams for Week 1. The Commanders host the New York Giants at 1 p.m. on Sept. 7 and the Ravens visit the Buffalo Bills at 8:20 that night.
BetMGM SGPs Now Available
One of the updates is the introduction of in-game same-game parlays for NFL games. Same-game parlays, which let bettors make one wager covering two or more props tied to the same contest, have risen in popularity as legalized sports betting has expanded across the country in the past seven years.
Now BetMGM customers using their Maryland sportsbook apps offering can package two or more in-game bets, including updated moneyline, spread and totals wagers along with such markets as player props. Bettors may also cash out those wagers during the game if they wish to lock in a profit or cap a loss.
Parlays in general now generate as much, if not more, handle than single-game wagers on the NFL and NBA, the two most popular sports for U.S. sports bettors. Many of those parlays involve markets from either or both leagues.
Last month, Greenblatt told investment analysts during BetMGM’s second quarter financial update call that bettors will get a “consistent experience” in making pre-game and in-game parlays.
In Maryland, data from Maryland Lottery and Gaming shows bettors in the state wagered more than $2.3 billion on parlays across all sports during the 2024-25 fiscal year. That accounted for more than 37% of the $6.2 billion handle for the 12-month period.
BetMGM customers on Apple phones also can monitor the progress of their bets on their mobile devices without needing to unlock their screen.
Other Changes Geared Toward Improving UX
Besides the new SGPs, BetMGM’s update aims for more user-friendly features to help customers find the markets they want to bet. One example is the ability to scroll to find odds on alternative lines, which are a popular option for Maryland NFL betting.
Bettors also can research their favorite players and teams on the site. The data, powered by GTG Network, provides information on the past five games as well as season trends and streaks.
BetMGM users will see how many rewards points they accumulate with each wager they place. In addition, a centralized dashboard will provide users with their points balance and rewards tier.
BetMGM Shows Growth In Maryland
The Old Line State is one of BetMGM’s best markets. Maryland Lottery and Gaming reports show that bettors wagered $511.8 million through the app during the 24-25 fiscal year. BetMGM ranked behind only FanDuel and DraftKings in terms of market share by handle.
The amount wagered on BetMGM in Maryland jumped more than 26% from the $404.9 million bettors put down during the 2023-24 fiscal year.
